Our Staff
Pastor Gerry has been a Pastor of Orland Park Church since 1988. As the primary teaching pastor, he presents the message at the Sunday worship services and conducts various educational classes and seminars throughout the year. Casting vision and inspiring excellence, he oversees the growth and development of all the church ministries at Orland Park Church. Pastor Gerry graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He then went on to receive his Masters of Divinity degree at Calvin Seminary. He has also completed his course work for a Doctorate of Ministry degree at Denver Seminary. He has also served churches in Newton, Iowa; Denver, Colorado; and Grand Rapids, Michigan. His leadership is marked by his passion for the lost and his deep desire to enrich the spiritual life of the believer. Pastor Gerry and his dear wife Carol are blessed with four children and six very spoiled grandchildren.
Pastor Marshall has been the Pastor of Congregational Life and Outreach since 2001. He seeks ways to nurture believers to a mature, joyful, obedient faith. He chairs the Shepherding Elders’ monthly meetings and enjoys teaching 11th and 12th grade Sunday School. Marshall also enjoys visiting the sick, shut-in’s, nursing homes, widows and widowers. He leads the Evangelism Committee in formulating the vision and goals of outreach at Orland Park Church and also serves as a teacher, using various appropriate methods of faith-sharing, and as the coordinator of all follow up efforts. He graduated from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He then went on to receive his Masters of Divinity degree at Calvin Seminary. Marshall is married to Tammy and has 2 daughters.
Jan Kamp has been Education Director since 1995. She is responsible for the educational ministries at Orland Park Church, including Nursery, Children’s Worship, Kids Konnections for Kindergarten through 12th grade, and Adult Education. She also coordinates the FOG (Family of God) Night activities once a month and special happenings such as the Couple’s Retreat. Jan loves kids and her passion is to show them how exciting and life changing God’s Word can be in their lives. She enjoys providing adults with opportunities to grow closer to the Lord as well as encourage them in building relationships with other Christians. Jan is married to Dave and they have 5 wonderful children. She enjoys photography, cooking, and travelling when she can.
Becky Vande Kamp has been the Youth Director at OPCRC since June of 2001. She has been involved in Youth Ministry as a volunteer since 1996. Her responsibilities include planning activities and Bible lessons for the Jr. High and Sr. High youth of the church. Becky enjoys working with young people, and has a passion to encourage them in their walk of faith. She also encourages them to seek opportunities to reach out and build up God’s kingdom through service both in our community and abroad. Becky is married to Joel and they have 5 children.
Cindy Vander Laan’s responsibilities include the Spiritual Gifts Ministry, worship planning, and volunteer coordination. Cindy also offers support and encouragement to various lay ministries in the church. It is her passion to assist every member of the church to realize how God has uniquely created them for a specific purpose in building His Kingdom. OPCRC is VERY open to working with and developing people’s giftedness. It is Cindy’s passion to assist every member of the church to realize how God has uniquely created them for a specific purpose in building His Kingdom. She truly has a love for the Lord and His people. Cindy is married to Ken and has three adult children, and one amazing son-in-law. She recently traveled to Uganda, Africa and served in an orphanage of 600… and has been “Radically Changed” by this trip.
Gloria Kamp has been on staff since 1997. She is the Administration and Facilities Manager. Her job includes managing the church building, support staff and custodial staff. She maintains the church calendar, personnel files, building maintenance and payroll. Gloria serves on the Finance, Property, and HR committees. Gloria is married to Kevin and have 3 children.
Rick Schultz has been working as full time custodian for 8 years. He makes sure rooms are cleaned and set up for all our functions. He also helps to maintain the building. The joy of the Lord is his strength. He also has served on the Tape Ministry.
Jane Ellens helps Jan Kamp with many activities such as American Girl Tea, Couples Retreat, the church picnic and Sunday School planning. Jane loves children and loves serving the Lord. She also serves on the Education Committee. Jane is married to Roger and they have 2 boys.
Trudie Brunius is thechurch receptionist/ secretary. She supports ministry staff in various ways including typing the pink sheet (community announcements) and the weekly bulletin, mailings, updating the church membership files and other tasks. Trudie is married to Jake and has 3 children and 6 grandchildren.
Laura Schnyders is the church Office Assistant. She provides support for the Administrative Assistant, Church Council, and Ministry Staff. Laura answers the phone and assists in producing the pink sheets and bulletins. She coordinates the weekly volunteers for the Food Pantry, Sunday Fellowship time, Sunday Greeters, & Mail Slots. She assists with the accounting by processing the bills, assists in maintaining church membership records, and compiles the documents for the Council Meetings. Laura is married to Tim and they have been blessed with 2 children, Micah and Morgan.
Kaitlyn Dykstra serves at Orland Christian Reformed Church as their Communications Coordinator. She is responsible for assisting in answering the phones, developing brochures and flyers, maintaining and enhancing the church website, assisting church committees with publicity, designing and coordinating advertisements, the publication of the Outlook newsletter each month, preparing PowerPoint sermon outlines, keeping the church bulletin boards up-to-date, assigning and updating mail slots, and preparing Braille material. Kaitlyn is married to Steve and they will be expecting their first child at the end of February.
Carol Vroom serves Orland Park Christian Reformed Church as Adult Choir Director and Worship Coordinator for the 8:30AM and 6PM services. Carol has a passion for singing and making music to the LORD. Carol is married to Jim. They are blessed with two children and two grandchildren.
Andy Van Soelen: has been the Contemporary Worship Coordinator since 2010. He is a senior at Trinity Christian College, where he will graduate in May 2012 with Theology and Business degrees. Andy has been actively involved with music since he was in high school and finds worship through music to be a way in which he can use the gift God has given him. Seeing the body of Christ unite each Sunday is a highlight for Andy. He is engaged to Karlie and they will be getting married in June 2012.
